UPDATE: CLOSED 2020
Does your love for coffee and/or mezcal know no bounds? Then you need to know Boundless Mezcal Cafe, the newest and very welcome addition to Cartagena's daytime to night-time drinking scene.
The brainchild of kindred spirits Adrian (Aussie with long-term ties to Colombia) and René (Mexican), Boundless Mezcal Cafe pairs together two more unlikely pals - Colombia's internationally renowned coffee, with the darling of the hipster/bar-keep set, Mexican mezcal. The result is a space that offers something for everyone. Don't believe me?
Here's the start of a boundless list of people who will like Boundless:
People who want to buy really good wins awards and everything Colombian coffee (souvenir: check!)
People who want to escape the oppressive heat and enjoy some air-conditioning
People who want to learn about Colombian coffee and have someone break it all down, in English, while they try the different varieties
People who need a decent coffee in the morning and can't wait for the rest of Cartagena's cafés to leisurely open up in the afternoon
People who like their coffee with views (try that iconic Clock Tower and bustling plaza on for size)
People who like espresso Martinis (it can't be just me? And these ones are good!)
People who like mezcal and want to learn more about it
People who like mezcal cocktails to set them up for a guaranteed fun night out (tequila and mezcal being the only liquors that aren't depressants. Arriba!)
People who are travelling in a group and would like a fun activity that also involves drinking
People who are travelling on their own and like to sit at the bar and chat with friendly bar-people
People who sing the tequila song when they are drinking tequila (na na nana na na nana yup, also me)
People who are adventurers, wanderlusters and edge-of-the-seat ambassadors just like owners Adrian and René
People who like cool spaces
People who like hot jazz (evenings from 7pm)
People who like cold brew in hot climates
People who like super refreshing ice tea
People who want to snack on perfectly prepared platters of tasty eats
People who like daytime drinking
... tbc....
So yeah.. basically, people. Boundless don't live by limits, why should you?
Check out Boundless Mezcal Cafe and tell us why it's the kind of place for people like you too and we can keep the list going.
