DRINK + DANCE TOUR
PRICE: $35 pp
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
Start time: usually 6pm (negotiable)
Includes: 1 Colombian tinto (coffee)
1 shot Colombian aguardiente
1 shot Colombian rum
1 local beer
Introductory dance instruction in 4 different music/dance styles
One of the best ways to understand the city and people of Cartagena is through how they spend their past-time - in this case what they drink and the music they listen and dance to.
This tour takes you on a voyage through 4 different musical styles: Folkloric (such as mápele and cumbia), Vallenato, Salsa and Champeta. We will learn about the origins of the different styles and their associated dances and share fun anecdotes that help understand their importance to Cartagena. You will have the opportunity to learn basic steps in each dance.
To accompany each genre, we will also have a different drink typical to Cartagena; colombian coffee (tinto), Colombian Aguardiente, Colombian rum and a local beer. Each drink has it's own story and has earned its place in Colombian daily life and legend.
The tour starts on the historic wall, usually about sunset, and finishes in a local club in Getsemani. If you are interested in this tour, please send us an email with the date, for your tour and how many people. This tour also makes a fun option for private groups and pre-wedding events. VIP versions of the tour are also possible whereby we hire professional dancers and musicians to accompany us.
Note: we need a minimum of 4 people confirmed to run the tour.
