AL ALMA
We've currently fallen head of heels in love with this stunning space and wanting to spend all our time here. Luckily new cafe/brunch-spot/resto/bar Al Alma is SUPER work-friendly, so we just might be able to do that.
Some points in favour of making it your favourite online workspace too:
It's new and kind of hidden, so it is far from crowded and lots of work-friendly perches near power-points
There's wifi and it seems to be good (and free)
There is so much beautiful natural light and high ceilings
It's so aesthetically pleasing and charming
They make a good coffee using superior Colombian beans
The food menu seems decent (need to return with hunger to try it out)
They have a 3 for price of 2 deal on mimosas and spritzs
Service is there if you want it and otherwise will leave you alone to enjoy your workspace with zero pressure (again it's new, hopefully things don't change if/when it gets more popular
Things to note:
The name is Al Alma (to the soul) and is not to be confused with the fancy restaurant located in the San Agustin hotel which also goes by the name Alma. This one is located upstairs from the iconic "lady of linen": Ketty Tinoco
There is also a rooftop space with stunning views and the aforementioned 3 for 2 deal (again, need to return to properly rate this) but everything closed at 8pm
Which brings us to other noteworthy point: this is (for the moment) a daytime only space 8am - 8pm.
Vegetarian/Vegan?
They don't specifically identify items as being vegetarian or vegan friendly on their menu but they have a hummus and vegetable burger/sandwich that includes a vegan protein and can be taken without cheese. This same protein can be instead included ina "bowl" which also features quinoa. For vegetarians that eat eggs and cheese, many of the brunch items will suit.
Good for groups?
Yup! The space is huge.
What should I order?
