BANANA BEACH PLAYA BLANCA BARU

I've said it before, and I'll probably say it a million more times over. For my money, Playa Blanca is Cartagena's best beach for when you want white sand and blue waters. Yes the beach is accessible by land, and so yes, (especially on weekends) the crowds flock here. This might be bothersome to you

Banana Beach is located on stretch of Playa Blanca further away from the crowds. They provide towels, sun lounges, a delicious lunch cooked in a pretty flash kitchen. The ceviche is really good. The fish is 100% guaranteed fresh. Same goes for the shrimp. There's toilets with seats that flush! The management team help keep away the vendors and only summon the ladies who massage if you actually want them (and if they don't, tell them). You can pay by card. This all sounds like a given (especially the flushing toilets), but the thing is, in almost every other spot on the beach, it's not.

So Banana Beach adds up to one of the most convenient ways to experience Playa Blanca (see also Nena Beach) .

The day pass costs 180,000 pesos pp including transport (pickup from your centro hotel) or 135,000 pesos if you make your own way there. We can also arrange a private transfer (this costs more) which will enable you to choose your time of departure and return or feel free to negotiate your own taxi.

Includes:
Boat trip up the beach to the private section to avoid the long walk
A main of fish (or chicken) with coconut rice, patacones and salad or Angus Beef Hamburger
1 welcome drink
1 drink with meal

To reserve a space, just send us a reservation via email or whatsapp with your name, date, pick up hotel and how many people.

Logistics:
You will leave from the centre at 9am and then leave Playa Blanca at 4pm. For the standard transport option, you will be collected via van between 8.30am and 9am (depending how many people have booked for the day).
You will then be driven to Playa Blanca (45 minutes + depending upon traffic). At the entry point to the beach, you will board a small boat and enjoy a quick 5 minute boat ride to the other end of the beach that's further away from the crowds. You will be taken directly to Banana Beach who will have your reservation. Private transport for 1-4 people will be from 150,000 pesos round trip.

They can also arrange arrivals by boat for larger/group bookings.
