CHOCO MUSEO & CAFE

CHOCOLATE! I know you're not going to need very much convincing on this one.. definitely the most delicious museum in Cartagena, the ChocoMuseo hasn't been open terribly long, but my hasn't it earned a fan base.

The ChocoMuseo is a FREE museum which offers easy-to-follow explanations (including pictures and models and samples) on the chocolate process, all the way from the tree to the glorious final chocolate block.

Appetite whetted? How about signing up for the hands-on Chocolate-Making workshops - a great activity to escape the day-time sun and also fantastic for kids of all ages.

The ChocoMuseo is also a Cafe (with sinfully good iced chocolates.. drool!) and a store, where you can sample and purchase a huge variety of chocolate and chocolate-derived products. Be sure to try the chocolate tea.. it's a calorie-free revelation!

You can find the ChocoMuseo on Plaza Fernandez de Madrid. Take a screenshot of the flyer below to receive a 5% discount on any of your chocolatey purchases. You can also get us to book your Chocolate Making Workshop by sending an email or whatsapp to Catalina here.

WORKSHOP OPTIONS

FROM CACAO TREE TO CHOCOLATE BAR - 2 HOUR WORKSHOP

The full, intensive 2 hour workshop explains every step of the chocolate-making process and includes a comprehensive history of chocolate in a world context. You will prepare 3 drinks; a chocolate tea from the husks, and the traditional chocolate drinks made by the Aztecs and then also the Mayans. Then you will prepare your own chocolates (the equivalent of 30,000 pesos value) according to your own tastes using either dark or milk chocolate and flavouring them exactly how you like.
FYI: I chose dark chocolate, coconut and salt flakes and it was a-mazing.
