CHIRINGUITO SECRET BEACH BOCACHICA

Update 25 June 2017:  WE have been informed that Chiringuito has decided to close. We won't delete this page just yet in case it re-opens under new management, but for now we can not accept reservations. Sorry!

So we've discovered this gorgeous private beach and we're pretty excited about it. And when we're excited about something we put it on our page and tell all our friends. And then we wonder if we should be selfish and actually keep completely quiet about it. And we contemplate taking it off our site and telling no-one so it stays private and secluded just for us. But then we realise that it's still a little difficult to actually arrive to this private beach, so that should keep the masses away. And we recall that we do really feel best when we are giving, not just receiving. So in the end, our magnanimous nature prevailed and we're spilling the secret. Hmm.. sometimes stream of consciousness writing can be really tedious, right?

Anyway! Chiringuito Beach on the Bocachica side of the island of Tierrra Bomba is really lovely. It is isolated and relaxing. The water is clean and blue. There are no neighbours. And topless sunbathing, the complete norm in Europe but generally frowned upon here in Colombia, is totally ok. This is not the place to come if you are looking for a lively beach with lots of action. Monday to Saturday this beach is quiet and relaxing and you might just be the only guests there.

However on Sundays, the beach plays host to a weekly dance Day Club and the electronic music pumps and revellers who don't take closed for an answer get their party on. More about that here.

So yes, Monday to Saturday, it's all about the chill. Beach lounge chairs, and towels provided for you. And cocktails and juices and cold beers because they actually have a generator and can make their own ice (unheard of on Tierra Bomba). And also about really simple, and very fresh fish lunch prepared very well. And about zero people selling you stuff or bothering you. So if you're about that too, here's the deal:

Day Pass costs 140,000 pesos and includes:
Return transport by lancha. Be warned, there needs to be a minimum of 4 people booked in on the day, otherwise it isn't worth Jose running the boat and you'll have to arrive via the more adventurous ferry/motorbike route. We can explain more about this if it turns out to be necessary.
Lunch (starter, main)
2 Drinks (beer, juice, softdrink)
1 Cocktail (mojito/margarita)
Towel
Use of sun lounges and beds

So hurry! Book it in before we go back to being selfish/everyone else finds out about it.
